Boris Nzebo was born in Port-Gentil in Gabon. He lived and works in Douala, Cameroon. The adventure of BORIS NZEBO begins in a hairdressing salon of Douala, colorful and full of life, as the economic capital of Cameroon. Boris NZEBO works as signs painter, before dedicating himself to Plastic Arts.
Autodidact, Boris NZEBO explores the traditional African hairstyle in the urban setting, the day to day torments, at night.
The hairstyle then becomes a pretext to question our identity, our social inequalities through graffities close to advertising codes “I am looking to emulate my questioning in front of a society in search of landmarks and in full mutation.
I wonder: how to understand that our environment is not as well well-manicured as our heads?” Boris NZEBO.
His work is regularly exhibited in Cameroon, England, France, Switzerland, Haiti, USA, and in Brazil and through international events during among which the London Contemporary Art Fairs 1:54 and New-York, Art Paris Art Fair, AKAA and ART X Lagos.
